Health Tips # 19 - Benefits of Vegetables & Fruits

Human body needs foods regularly for strength and to stay healthy. It would be great to have most of our as vegetables and fruits, as they contain many powerful and important nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fiber and also helps reduce the risk of many diseases.

Types of Vegetables and Fruits :

Green foods are particularly good for the blood circulation in the system. Green foods include minerals and vitamins B.

Red foods are specially for reducing internal damage. Red foods include phyto-chemicals so take Watermelon, Tomatoes, Strawberry.

Yellow foods are specially for reducing the risk of developing cataracts. So take Yellow Corn, Oranges, Pineapple.

Orange foods help to prevent cancer. Carrots (Gajar), Pumpkin (Kaddu), Sweet Potatoes (Shakar kand), Apricots (Khubani) and other orange foods are particularly good for our eyes, as they contain vitamin A.

White and green foods contain a variety of minerals. Include Garlic, Onions in your meals which are anti-bacterial and anti fungal.

Red and Blue foods are protecting against heart disease by improving circulation of blood. Add foods in your meals like Apple, Beets (Chukandar), Black Grapes.

Ways to increase Vegetables and Fruits in your meals


  • Take fresh fruit in the morning.
  • Eat mix fruits salad and one vegetable with lunch.
  • Eat minimum two vegetables with dinner.
  • Include Beans ( Fali ) and Sprouted Peas in salads.
